Not
all pressure treated split rail is "Treated Equal"
Our
Appalachian Split Rail, with its Southern Yellow Pine post, gives
you a longer lasting product than other pressure treated split rail
on the market with a mixed hardwood post.
The
American Wood Preservers' Association requires a .40 retention for
material in contact with the ground. Mixed hardwood posts, Poplar
in particular, will not normally treat to this retention. This results
in the mixed hardwood posts failing after a few years of installation.
The Southern Yellow Pine post, which will easily treat to the .40
retention level, will provide years of maintenance-free service.
