Not all pressure treated split rail is "Treated Equal"

Our Appalachian Split Rail, with its Southern Yellow Pine post, gives you a longer lasting product than other pressure treated split rail on the market with a mixed hardwood post.

The American Wood Preservers' Association requires a .40 retention for material in contact with the ground. Mixed hardwood posts, Poplar in particular, will not normally treat to this retention. This results in the mixed hardwood posts failing after a few years of installation. The Southern Yellow Pine post, which will easily treat to the .40 retention level, will provide years of maintenance-free service.

Split Rail

Crafted rails of Northern white cedar or mixed hardwoods create an airy, natural charm reminiscent of the fences of early settlers. Available in two or three rail designs.
